PELLEY, Sophie M. - Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, Sophie M. Pelley of St. John's; formerly of Carbonear, age 74 years. Predeceased by parents: John and Gertrude; brothers: Arthur, Silas, Wilbert 'Bill', Malcolm, Frank and sister: Rose Joseph. Leaving to mourn, one brother: Edward Pelley, Carbonear; three sisters: Florence 'Floss' Butt Kitchener, ON, Annie (Clifford) Garland and Jean Clarke, both of Carbonear; sister-in-law: Grace Pelley, Corner Brook; also a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear with visitation hours on Friday, September 3 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 4 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Saturday, September 4 at 2:30 p.m. from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Carbonear. Interment in the Gospel Hall Cemetery, Carbonear. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
