Obituary of Father Linus Coady
Please share a memory of Father to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Linus J. departed this beautiful world at peace with God, and with all those who loved him. He went in the hope of barely getting inside the gates of heaven, just enough space to squeeze in. He died, too, in the hope of seeing Sergei Rachmaninov, the Russian concert pianist, who filled his hours with beautiful music... and with a bit of luck, he might even see John McCormack. And, of course, Linus left in the additional hope that he will meet up with the multitude of those he loved and who loved him. Need I mention dear old Mother Church? I think not. It was a seventy-eight year love affair! Saint Thomas Moore consoled his weeping executioner by saying "Cheer up my friend. We will all meet merrily in heaven." So to those who might weep my passing: Cheer up! The best is yet to come!!.
