To the Vaters family, We would like to offer our sincere condolences to Pansy and the family on their dear mother's passing. Your mom holds a special place in our hearts, who Kevin and I have always said she resembled his own dear mom in so many ways - from her pleasant countenance to her gentle Christian manner. Your mom gave me a ceramic three years ago with "The Lord's Prayer", which is placed by my bedside, as a reminder that "His will is done on earth as it is in Heaven". The God she served for so many years will bring you peace during this most difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. -Sheila & Kevin Tremblett Edmonton, AB

To Nan Pat, Bryan, Phyllis, Lil and the Vaters family So sorry to hear of nannies passing. She was such a special person and touched the lives of so many people. She was famous for so many things (and her bread rolls was only one) I can see her now going around the house with her apron on, tucking things back in their places, checking on the bread rolls and chatting about the weather. By supper time she'd have her suitcase unpacked and packed again and be in her third dress of the day-all dressed up and ready to roll. I was blessed to have shared a small part of nannies life and will hold her memory close to my heart forever. In the words of E. Brenneman "Her journey's just begun". Don't think of her as gone away-her journeys just begun, life holds so many facets-this earth is only one. just think of her as resting from the sorrows and the tears, in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days or years. Think how she must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched... for nothing loved is ever lost and she was loved so much. All our love, Angela snow & family King's point

Lillian, or Lil as she was known to all, was the family baker. I remember going to see her daughter, Florence as a teen, and found it very hot in Lils' kitchen. I asked her why she had all the heat, for it was summer. "Wanda, my maid," she exclaimed, "I got thirteen youngsters to feed. I bakes 14 pans of bread seven days a week, every day of the year in order to keep them all fed." Lil did this from scratch, no bread and roll mix here! All this and a neat and tidy home too! And whenever you went there, you were met with a smile, a cheerful hello and a cup of tea. She was one of a kind.

Gene and I are both so very sorry for your deep loss. There's a saying that "God only takes the good ones." If this be true, God has indeed taken a good one, for in your Mom He has claimed the very best. It is at times of sadness and deep sorrow the His presence can be felt most strongly. May you find strength from His word, courage from His infinite wisdom and comfort in His arms. Gene and Wanda(Antle)White

To the Vaters Family. The Town of Victoria is sadden to hear of your Mother's passing. Mrs. Vaters was a good friend and well liked by all who knew her. She was very dedicated to her church and many times she would call me after a snow storm to see if her road would be ploughed so that her friends could pick her up and bring her to the service. I hope it will be of some comfort to know that others are thinking of you at this time. On behalf of Council, Staff and Citizens of Victoria I express our sincere condolences to you and pray that God will be with you and comfort you during this time of sorrow.
