PENNEY, John W. - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Monday, April 2, 2012, John W. Penney of Carbonear, age 67 years. Predeceased by parents: John and Nellie Penney; sister-in-law: Elva Penney; niece: Joan Penney; nephew: Carson Penney. Leaving to mourn, three brothers: Alfred, Gill and Gordon (Pauline), all of Carbonear; three sisters: Florence (Wilson) Collins, Victoria, Betty (Lloyd) Hollett and Shirley Penney (Des Hollett), both of Cambridge, ON; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear with visitation hours by request of the family on Tuesday from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m.; Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.; Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Thursday, April 5 at 2:00 p.m. from Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the John W. Penney Memorial Fund.
