HOBBS, Violet May - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, November 19, 2009, Violet May Hobbs of Red Cliff, Bonavista Bay, age 80 years. Predeceased by husband: John and infant son. Leaving to mourn, two brothers: Howard Cross, Airdrie, AB and Don (Stella) Cross, Ottawa, ON; two sisters: Blanche Brown, Grand Falls-Windsor and Mary (Jack) Hoyt, Kansas City, Kansas; sister-in-law: Eileen Froude, Mount Pearl; also a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Saturday, November 21 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Sunday, November 22 at 2:00 p.m. from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Carbonear. Cremation to follow. Inurnment will be held on Monday, November 23 at 2:00 p.m. from the Anglican Cemetery, Red Cliff Cemetery, Bonavista Bay. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in Violet's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
