BAKER, Benjamin J. Sr. - Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, July 24, 2009, Benjamin J. Baker Sr. of Carbonear, age 76 years. Predeceased by 1st wife: Mae; sons: Albert and Gordon; granddaughter: Kimberley-Anne; grandson: Albert Scott; parents: Lucy and Benjamin Sr.; brother: Fred; sisters: Elizabeth, Jessie and Eva. Leaving to mourn, wife: Mary; four daughters: Sharon Peddle and Brenda (Joe) Foley, both of Carbonear, Beverley (Roy) Cole, Victoria and Bonnie (Cyril Whyte), Carbonear; one son: Benjamin (Ruth), Carbonear; four step-daughters: Debbie (Peter) Snow and Brenda (Scott) Young, both of Carbonear, Paula (Wayne) King, Blackhead and Trudy (Craig) Oates, Happy Valley- Goose Bay; two step-sons: Brian (Kelly) O'Leary, Happy Valley-Goose Bay and Gregory O'Leary, Mount Pearl; twenty grandchildren: Sandra, Tina, Jamie, Joey, Darlene, Bradley, Sherry, Tracy, Roy, Tammy, Shelly, Jenny, Rebecca, Jessica, Julia, Sara, Angeline, Rachel, Jacob and Marcus; thirteen great-grandchildren: Jeremy, Justin, Benjamin, Kaylen, Luke, Brady, Cole, Anna, Jack, Ava, T.J., Travis and Emma; one brother: Allan (Martha), BC; two sisters: Evelyn King, Carbonear and Violet (Pleaman) Clarke, Victoria; special friends: Al and Frances Cole, Salmon Cove; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Funeral service to take place on Monday, July 27 at 2:00 p.m. from Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment in Park Avenue United Cemetery, Carbonear South. As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted.
