PENNEY, Millicent (nee Parsons)- Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, Millicent Penney of Salmon Cove, age 95 years. Predeceased by husband: Joseph; infant daughter: Louise; brothers: Edgar, John and Thomas; sisters: Phoebe, Martha, Leah and Louisa. Leaving to mourn, two daughters: Glenda (William) Butt, Portugal Cove - St. Phillips and Marilyn (Wayne) Homer, Salmon Cove; five grandchildren: Sheldon (Amanda), Darian (Audrey) and Davin Butt, Tristan and Joanne Homer; four great-grandchildren: Jocelyn, Spencer, Aaralynn and Thomas; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear with visitation hours by request of the family on Thursday from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.; Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Sunday, March 11 at 2:00 p.m. from Riverside United Church, Salmon Cove. Interment in Riverside United Cemetery, Salmon Cove. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Riverside United Church Perpetual Care Fund.
