TRICKETT, Joan L. (nee King) - Passed peacefully away after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the Carbonear General Hospital on Sunday, February 12, 2012, Joan L. Trickett of Carbonear, age 64 years. Predeceased by parents: Allan and Pearl King; brother: Eric; parents-in-law: Hubert and Phyllis Trickett; niece: Katrina Trickett. Leaving to mourn, husband: Winston; son: Jason, Jasper, AB; daughter: Janice (James) Sheppard, St. John's; two precious granddaughters: Paige and Emily Sheppard; three brothers: Bob (Faye) and Gary (Gin Steele), both of Carbonear and Glen (Tracy), Edmonton, AB; brothers-in-law: Byron (Brenda) and Roy (Sharon Williams), both of St. John's; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Monday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, February 15 at 2:00 p.m. from Ocean View United Church, Broad Cove. Interment in the United Cemetery, Broad Cove. As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation. "To the world she was our mother, to us she was the world."
