P.J., Don, Ann, David, John and Reggie I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Your Mom was a sweet lady. I remember sitting in her kitchen on several occasions. In particular, I recall one evening while I was doing the Census in Riverhead (in the early 1980’s) she consoled me as an unwilling participant shouted at me ordered me off of their property! She was a beautiful woman even in her later years. I am sure this is a difficult time. Thoughts and Prayers with you all. Sincerely, Lori French (now Francis) Delray Beach, FL

To Ann and the Coombs family, It is with sadness that I just read of Dot's entrance into heaven. You have lost a very dear and special person from your lives and the sorrow is great without doubt. Dot was in many ways a "wonder" woman who kept so many charitable works, family activities and undertakings up and running over the years. She had a great relaxing, genial presence and that is what I will always remember her for. She was indeed a great woman, wife, mother and grandmother to you all. Her simple faith in the power of the divine stood her in good stead throughout her life and she never wavered from that faith in God and in people. May her gentle good soul live on in paradise with Reg forever and may memories of her be with you all as you journey forward through life. May she rest in peace! Again, my deepest sympathy and prayers at this time! Br. Sean Whitty cfc Mount Sion Monastery Waterford, Ireland

Ann, Reg, Don, Patrick Joseph, and David A heartfelt "sorry" to you on the passing of your mother. The Butt and Coomb's families were close, even though we did not know it! An Irish Funeral Prayer Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Everything remains as it was. The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by the old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used. Put no sorrow in your tone. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effort Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before. How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting, when we meet again. Source: derived from a sermon written by Henry Scott Holland and delivered in St. Paul's (London) on 15 May 1910, at which time the body of King Edward VII was lying in state at Westminster. Although not originally derived from Irish writings, versions of this sermon have been used at many Irish and Catholic funerals over the years. Niall and Gale Butt Carbonear.

To Reg and the Coombs Family, It was with great sadness that we heard of the passing of your mother. May there be comfort in the knowledge that she is at rest. Remember that your mother is always with you. She's the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street, she's the smell of certain foods you love, the flowers you pick and the perfume that she wore. She's the cool and comforting hand on your brow when you're not feeling well and she's your breath in the air on a cold winter's day. She is Christmas morning. Your Mother lives inside your laughter. And she's crystallized in every tear drop. She's the place you came from, your first home, and she's the map you follow with every step you take. She's your first love, your first friend, even your first enemy, but nothing on earth can separate you. For each of you hold a reflection of her. You have often heard of the phrase “Angels among us…”, well on June 01, 2008 your special angel got her wings. God bless you all in this difficult time, our hearts and prayers are with you. The Warr’s Ladies Soccer team, Happy Valley-Goose Bay
