To Edna, Dianne and Jackson, We were saddened to hear from Gene (Rorke) that Sandy had died. We have known since Mabel's boys were small children that you have been Mabel's best friend and like a beloved aunt to the boys. Jackson was Gene's best friend. We know they all had (have) nothing but the highest regard and love for all of you. We share their loss today. We hope that you are weathering the storm well and are all in good health. Muriel (Mabel's sister) and Mac Squires

The Butt Family: Please accept our sincere sympathy. I remember on many occasions watching Sandy coming in from the traps and Mom would send me up to the wharf with 10 or 15 cents and Mr Butt would make sure I went home with a hearty size fresh fish that I could barely carry.

Mrs. Edna Butt and Family. Sincere condolences from me and my Family. My Family would not have known of Mr. Butt as they came along after I moved from Carbonear but I remember Sandy well as He taught me a few Life lessons such as thr right way to cut out tongues from the Codfish which I then sold for 10 cents a bag. I would sit on the Wharf and wait for him to come in with his catch and he would toss the Heads to me and I would cut out the Tongues. With that Money I saved enough to help me go to Air Cadet Camp and have a few Dollars to help Me Mudder get a pair of pants or a shirt for me. God Bless you Mr. Butt and Comfort your Family in this time of need. I remember and Thank-You. Jerry Howell,Eastern Passage,Nova Scotia.

Jackson, Debbie & the Butt Family: Sorry to hear of the passing of Sandy. Growing up in Carbonear, I remember seeing him mainly down on the wharf or at John Parsons' house. I will remember Sandy for his strong work ethic and quiet presence. Although we cannot be with you, may it comfort you to know that we are thinking of you and keeping you close in prayer.

To Edna, Sandra, Jackson, and families, Sorry to hear of Sandy's passing while we were en route to Minnesota on Wednesday. Even though we are unable to carry out his wishes at this time, our thoughts are with you during this difficult period. As you know, we watched over the last few years as his health slowly deteriorated until he was confined to bed and recently to the hospital. His suffering is over now and he is at rest. Please accept our sincere sympathy and we will be in touch when we return. Jack & Vivian

Jackson , Debbie & The Butt Family: Sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Butt. I haven't seen him around for some time now but it seems like only yesterday when my Mom would send me up to Earle's wharf to get some fresh fish for our dinner and quite often I would get the fish from skipper Sandy , maybe a couple or three fish for 50 cents or so. Oh how the time changes as time passes and we grow older. Remember the good times you shared together, I'm sure there are many, as they will help get you through this time of sorrow. God Bless
