Obituary of Charles R. Soper

SOPER, Charles R. Sr. - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 7, 2011, Charles R. Soper Sr. of Carbonear, age 87 years. Predeceased by parents: Harry and Irene; brothers: William and Harry; son-in-law: Ronald; brother-in-law: William Babb; sisters-in-law: Wesley Soper and Winnie Soper. Leaving to mourn, his loving wife of 65 years: Winnifred; four daughters: Carol (Gordon) Squibb, Carbonear, Beverly Dawson, Bay Roberts, Lillian (Paul) Oliver, Harbour Grace and Lorraine (Russ) Thomas, Mount Pearl; three sons: Howard, Charlie (Joan) and Bruce (Judy), all of Carbonear; fourteen grandchildren: Joanne (David), Steven (Jillian), Stephanie (John), Adam, Shannon (Donna), Michael (Karen), Andrew (Leanne), Megan (Andrew), Erin, Ryan, Hilary, Laura, Aaron and Joel; ten great-grandchildren; three brothers: Ken (Marjorie), Toronto, ON, Don (Marie), Halifax, NS and Lloyd, Dartmouth, NS; one sister: Lillian Babb, Harbour Grace; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear after 2:00 p.m. Sunday. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, October 11 at 2:00 p.m. from Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. Visitation hours at Noel's Funeral Home are 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. daily.
