Mud Pies, Family, Church and Flowers These are the first things that comes to mind as I think of Mrs. Slade. I remember making mud pies in her yard with Melanie when we were so very young. She was very welcoming and devoted to her family. I know how special she was to Melanie and the important role that she played in Melanie's life. I can close my eyes and see Mr. and Mrs. Slade in their special seat in Riverside United Church and how devoted she was to both family and church. I will always remember her when I visit Melanie's garden see Mrs. Slade's favourite flowers blowing in the wind.
