Passed peacefully away at her daughter’s residence in Ochre Pit Cove, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, October 8, 2023, Violet M. Oliver of Gull Island, age 92 years. Predeceased by husband: Felix; brothers: Harrison Pike, George Pike, Harold Pike, Roy Pike, Edward Pike, Wayne Pike, Jim Pike, and William Pike; sister: Pearl Jollymore. Leaving to mourn, four daughters: Tilly (Guisse, deceased) Oliver, Theresa (Henry, deceased) Oliver, Lorraine Oliver, all of Gull Island, and Phyllis (Vic) Skinner, Ochre Pit Cove; son: Teddy, St. John’s; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great- grandchild; five brothers: Theodore Pike, Gus Pike, John Pike, Gerald Pike, and Eugene Bellows; two sisters: Bertha McEachern and Doris Pike; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Visitation at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay on Tuesday, October 10 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 11 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, October 12 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Thursday, October 12 at 11:00 a.m. from Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Northern Bay. Interment in Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Cemetery, Northern Bay. As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
