Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family at Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear on Monday, January 10, 2022, Carol Rowena Rose of Salmon Cove, age 78 years. Predeceased by husband: Samson; granddaughter: Stacey; parents: Francis and Minnie Spurrell; sister: Mary (Hayward) Noseworthy; brothers: Maxwell (Stella), Gordon, and Chesley. Leaving to mourn, two daughters: Cheryl Rose (Gene O'Grady), Carbonear and Maryette (Jim) Sheppard, Holyrood; two sons: Darrell (Stephanie), Salmon Cove and Barry (Vanessa), Victoria; eight grandchildren: Samantha, Kristen (Adam), Cheryl (Nick), Douglas, Madison, Tiffany, Drake, and Chloe; one great-granddaughter: Whitney; brothers-in-law: William Rose, Carbonear and Roy Oldford, Port Blandford; sisters-in-law: Beulah Spurrell, Harbour Grace and Florence Rose, Salmon Cove; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Following pandemic guidelines, visitation by invitation only at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Funeral service by invitation only on Friday, January 14 at 2:00 p.m. from Riverside United Church, Salmon Cove. Proof of vaccination required for visitation and funeral service. Interment in Riverside United Cemetery, Salmon Cove. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to Riverside United Church, P.O. Box 250, Salmon Cove, NL, A0A 3S0 or a charity of one’s choice. “Just close your eyes and you will see, all the memories that you have of me. Just sit and relax and you will find, I’m still there inside your mind. Don’t cry for me now I’m gone, for I am in the land of song. There is no pain, there is no fear, so dry away that silent tear. Don’t think of me in the dark and cold, for here I am no longer old. I’m in that place that’s filled with love, known to you all as “up above.” ****
