Obituary of Viola Pottle

Passed peacefully away at Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, Viola Pottle of Salmon Cove, age 90 years. Predeceased by husband: Lester; parents: Samuel and Melina Penney; sister: Florence Godfrey; brothers: Oscar and William (Dorcas) Penney. Leaving to mourn, sister-in-law: Hazel; nephews: Larry (Bride), Ivan (Marian), and Bill (Marlene) Penney; nieces: Linda (Joe, deceased) English and Leona (Pete, deceased) White; a number of great-nieces and great-nephews; special friends: Ivan and Cavelle Reynolds; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Visitation at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Thursday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Friday, June 18 from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Carbonear, by invitation only. Interment in the United Church Cemetery, Freshwater, Carbonear. The family would like to thank the people who took excellent care of Viola over the last number of years. Their caring attitude and dedication did not go by unnoticed. Viola resided at Lane's Retirement Home and when her needs became more critical she spent the remaining time of her life at Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion. The staff at those two homes went above and beyond their scope of duties to see that Viola was comfortable and well-cared for. Thank you all so much.
