Memories of Dad
I will take this special moment
To turn my thoughts to Dad
Thank him for the home he gave
For all the things we had.
We think about the fleeting years
Too quickly, gone for good
It seems like only yesterday
I’d go back if I could.
A time when Dad was always there,
No matter what the weather.
Always strong when things went wrong
He held our lives together.
He strived so hard from day to day
And never once complained.
With steady hands, he worked so hard
And kept the family name.
He taught us that hard work pays off,
You reap just what you sow.
He said that if you tend your crops,
Your field will overflow.
My life has been bountiful
He taught me how to give
In his firm and steadfast way
He taught me how to live.
Dad dwells among the angels now
He left us much too soon
He glides across a golden field
Above the harvest moon.
I see him in the summer rain,
He rides upon the wind
And when my path is beaten down
He picks me up again.

Sincere condolences to the Parsons Families.
I remember first when I got married I lived in Salmon Cove.
I had a job in Victoria and no car.
I would get a ride to and from work with Jim.
It would be early morning and late evening because Jim had to light
and remove the safety oil lamps on the job.
A very generous man!

To the parsons family so sorry to hear about Jim’s passing. I have a lot of good memories of him, from when my children was small he and Myrtle would always stop at their lemonade stand and get a glass. As a member of salmon cove council he sure was there to help you understand the rules, and wanted you to to be a good councillor, he would say you young people will take over when I’m to old. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. May god bless.

How can I wright all the memories I have of your dad. From the first time I was allowed in over Parsons Hill to the last Christmas I visited him at Lane's. I looked to your dad for many things. I could always count on him for some history lessons on years ago growing up in Salmon Cove to a history lesson in politics. As I became involved with council he was my mentor. I could always rely on his honest opinion and answers. It saddened me to hear of his passing, however at the same time I smiled when all the memories came back. To you his family, know that your memories are what will continue to get you through these difficult times. There are many people that share in your loss today, stay close to your family and friends and continue to share the stories and memories of your wonderful day. God bless you all.

To Jim's family.
I am sorry to hear about his passing. Jim was a wonderful person to know. I got to know him many years ago through his brother Bill. Then a few years ahead I got involved with council and met him through him being The Mayor of Salmon Cove. He always had a lot of pride for his family, and his community.
On behalf of the citizens, staff and council members of Victoria, I want to offer you our sincere condolences. Rest assured that you are all in our prayers.

Tony, John, Edith, Selby, Noreen and families, Mary and I offer our deepest condolences.
Notwithstanding this past year, Cousin Jim lived a full, productive life and has left his family and friends with many great memories. Anyone who had ever eaten at a table with him, will remember his lengthy and sincere blessings at mealtime. For Mary and I, we have personal and private memories of “Jim” jam and “Jim” cheese.
We will miss him dearly.
Jim was a devoted father and grandfather, and he has now gone to spend eternity with Myrtle, his soulmate.
Cousin Jim, may you spend the hereafter cutting hay, tending your vegetable garden and caring for your animals.

So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. Tony, I didn't know your Dad well but what I do know is that he treasured all the time you spent with him each time you came home from Alberta. Family was very important to him and it's hard to say goodbye. Your Dad will always be with you as long as you keep memories of him close to your heart. Your Dad will be the family's guardian angel now....always watching over each one of you. Rest in Peace, Mr. Parsons.

Deepest condolences to my cousins Tony, John, Edith, Noreen, Selby and families. I have great memories of Uncle Jim who was a very hard working family man. Many many memories, laughs and meals over the years one of which was a pig roast as depicted in the attached picture. Rest assured he is now with Aunt Myrtle who he deeply missed and no doubt a beverage with brother Bill. May he rest in peace.

Deeply saddened by my dear, sweet Uncle Jim’s passing.
I grew up in a family where your aunts, uncles and cousins meant something. Summer bbqs and holiday gatherings were the norm. So many fond memories. Too many to choose from to pick a favourite.
I was always welcome at Uncle Jim’s & Aunt Myrtle’s where I would be greeted by a warm hug. And there was always the guest book that would be passed around for everyone to sign.
Godspeed Uncle Jim. You will always have a special place in my heart.
My most heartfelt condolences to my cousins and their families.
Fondly,
Katherine Robertson (nee Parsons) and family
