Obituary of William J. Curran

Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, William J. Curran of Carbonear, age 86 years. Predeceased by wife: Traute ‘Mary’; son: Brian; parents: William and Agnes; brothers: Maurice and Phil; sister: Julia (Joe) O'Grady; brothers-in-law: Eddie Furey, George Cherry, and Larry Griffin. Leaving to mourn: three daughters: Monica (Peter) Connors, Georgetown, ON, Angela (Bryan) Majuery, Carbonear, and Bev Curran (Roland), Kelowna, BC; two sons: Anthony (Carol) and Michael (Louise), both of Brampton, ON; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; three brothers: Dominic (Brenda), David (Cathy Ann), and Joe, all of Carbonear; five sisters: Anastasia Furey, Elizabeth Cherry, and Lucy Griffin, all of Carbonear, Agnes (Wayne) Bishop and Catherine (Jim) Mercer, both of Upper Island Cove; sisters-in-law: Annie Curran, Elvie Curran, and Monika (Keith) Morrison; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Saturday, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A family only funeral service to take place from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Carbonear. Interment in St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carbonear. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation of NL, 10 Pippy Place, St. John’s, NL, A1B 3X3. Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, and for the health and safety of everyone, restrictions on the number of individuals attending the visitation and funeral service are being implemented.
