Obituary of Sidney R. 'Junior' Warford

Passed away peacefully with family by his side in Cambridge, Ontario on December 2, 2019, Sidney R. ‘Junior’ Warford, formerly of Victoria, age 66 years. Predeceased by parents, Reid and Mary Warford, and sister, Linda Lahey. Deeply missed by and leaving to mourn are his daughter: Kandice (Kris) from his previous marriage to Rhonda Hayter; grandchildren: Aaden, Ella, and Tanner; his son: Tim (Kristen); his sister: Eva, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Born on Bell Island on March 1, 1953 to Reid and Mary Warford, Sid grew up and attended school in Victoria. After a brief time in the Armed Forces, Sid pursued a career in banking and moved to Ontario in 1978, where he established a successful business banking career. He was very well respected and made many friends over the years in the various places he worked, including Prescott, ON, Smiths Falls, ON, Port Hope, ON, and his most recent place of residence, Cambridge, ON. In his downtime, you could usually find Sid on a golf course or at his BBQ with a cold beer in hand, surrounded by friends and family. Sid was an active volunteer over the years, serving as President of the Smiths Falls Crime Stoppers, among many other associations. Most recently he volunteered his time marshalling on his favourite golf course. Sid will be deeply missed by many people in many places. He was a big personality and often left a big impression. A visitation to pay your respects to the family will be held at Noel’s Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Saturday, March 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Inurnment to follow at the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital ICU unit, and asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local SPCA as Sid had a soft spot for animals and was passionate about their welfare.
