PRESTON, Margaret L. - Passed peacefully away at the Dr. A.A. Wilkinson Memorial Hospital, Old Perlican on Saturday, September 3, 2011, Margaret L. Preston of Western Bay, age 77 years. Predeceased by parents: Catherine and Thomas Rodgers, grandson: Paul J. Layman RN, sisters: Gert Delaney, Joanna Oliver, Jen MacDonald and Bess Murin, brother: Patrick Rodgers; special uncle: Patrick Rodgers. Leaving to mourn, sons: Cyril (Sharon), Ochre Pit Cove and Rick (Bern), Western Bay; daughter: Elizabeth (Peter) Layman, Ochre Pit Cove; six grandchildren: Cathy, Sean (Andrea), Jennifer (Sean), Amy (Sheldon), Amanda and Mitchell; four great-grandchildren: Gregory, Katelyn, Colby and Lyla; sister: Madeline (Chris) Kavanagh, Flat Rock, St. John's; brother: Jim (Alice) Rodgers, Clarenville; nieces and nephews; special friend: Muriel Peddle, Carbonear; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay after 7:00 p.m. Sunday, September 4. Funeral mass to take place on Tuesday, September 6 at 2:30 p.m. from Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Northern Bay. Interment in Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Cemetery, Northern Bay. As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Margaret L. Preston Memorial Fund or Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Northern Bay.
