BRAKE, George J. - Passed away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, September 1, 2011, George J. Brake of Victoria, age 80 years. Predeceased by 1st wife: Elizabeth; brother: Pius; parents: John and Mary Brake. Leaving to mourn, wife: Dallas; two sons: Kevin (Flora), Paradise and George (Anita), Victoria; four grandchildren: Amy, Jodie, Ashley and Holly; three great-grandchildren: Lauryn, Jenna and Jacob; one brother: Victor Brake, Marystown; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear with visitation hours by request of the family on Friday, September 2 from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., Saturday, September 3 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 4 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Sunday, September 4 at 2:00 p.m. from Bethel Pentecostal Church, Victoria. Interment in Bethel Pentecostal Cemetery, Victoria. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Centre or to Gideons International.
