SNELGROVE, Bessie May (Halliday) - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, Bessie May (Halliday) Snelgrove of Lower Island Cove, age 97 years. Predeceased by husband: Charles L.; grandson: Robert Rose; sons-in-law: Ray Whalen and Ches Rose; sisters: Susie Maude, Minnie, Floss and Gertie; brothers: Will John, Harry, Ches, Wallace, Melvin and Harold. Leaving to mourn, five daughters: Louise Rose (Roy), Western Bay, Betsy Whalen, Labrador City, Joan (Garfield) Crocker, Trenton, ON, Joyce Snelgrove, Paradise and Audrey (Randy) Penney, Cambridge, ON; two sons: Garland (Edwina), Dartmouth, NS and Randell (Donna), Toronto, ON; thirteen grandchildren: Lester, Stephen, Harvey, Chris, Barry, Randy, Rick, Shirley, Roxanne, Jocelyn, Juanita, Christina and Angela; twenty-one great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay on Thursday, May 26 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday, May 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Friday, May 27 at 2:00 p.m. from Memorial United Church, Burnt Point. Interment in Bethal United Cemetery, Lower Island Cove. As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to Bethal United Cemetery Fund.
