It is hard to express the sense of loss to the community that the passing of Mrs. Greene represents. I remember her so very well. While delivering the Compass paper in the 60's we had many a conversation. I was always mindful she took the time to make a child feel important. We may not always remember what a person does but we always remember how they make us feel. My thoughts and prayers are with both family and friends.

It is such a sad occassion to say good-bye to one of the most wonderful women I have ever had the privilage of knowing all my life. Triffee was a wonderful lady who would always make you smile. I remember going to her house as a little girl and continued going in my adult hood with my children, she would always love for someone to visit and made them welcome. She will be forever missed and will remain in my heart forever.

It is with great sadness that we heard of the passing of such a wonderful lady as Aunt Tryphenia ,or Aunt Triffie as we affectionately knew her. Our visits to Western Bay were always highlighted by a visit to the Greene's place to be looked after like we lived there, topped off by Triffie's matter of fact charm and wonderful warmth. We will miss here dearly. Rest in Peace. The Shallows

We were very sad to hear of Triffie's passing. She was indeed a great lady that will always be remembered. I (Brenda) first met Triffie when we both did a shorthand/typing course in Carbonear and she treated all the girls like her daughters and she always said how much she enjoyed doing the program with us. She was very interested in learning everything and was always there to help whenever she could. Dennis grew up just down the road from her and knew her and the Greene family all his life. She was always a lady that he admired and respected. We are sorry to be out of town this weekend and will not be able to visit but pass on our deepest condolences. May your many wonderful memories of her help you through this difficult time. God Bless.

Our thoughts go out to the Greene family. So sad that Aunt Triffie has passed on. We will remember her truly happy outlook and miss her wit. She was a great host and as my cousins can attest, she never wanted to leave you with an empty stomach once you entered her home. I think it was Karim who said you have to eat half your body weight before your visit ends. This held true last summer. We had not been inside more than 5 minutes before she presented cake and cookies. Whenever I think of 'around the bay' Aunt Triffie always comes to mind; she will be missed.

To the Greene family. Earth's loss is heaven's gain. Triffie will always hold a special place in our hearts. She was the secretary when we both started teaching in Western Bay. In later years she became a treasured friend as she came to Bible studies and often had an encouraging word. She loved the Lord and her family. She was always interested in our children and inquired after them faithfully. She is the only Triffie I (Rindy) have ever known and her name will always be special. I trust you will find comfort in your memories, her long life, and her faith in Christ. She is with her Lord. Of that I have no doubt. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. To cousin Fred and cousin Wendy, allow me to express my deepest condolences. To aunt Shirley, aunt Phyllis and to my father, Jim, again my thoughts are with you at this time. Being her nephew, of course I knew her as ‘Aunt Triffie’. I have nothing but fond memories of her. Always quick to smile with that spark in her eye, I so admired her prevailing wit. I knew only of her kindness and bright spirit. When I think of Newfoundland, I think of her. She’ll always be remembered.

Wendy and Fred, Gord and I are so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. Your mom was a very special lady and I am sure that she will be missed my many. Every time I would go visit her, she always made me feel like the most important person in the world, that was just the way she treated everyone. Your mom said something to me years ago and I still use it today in certain situations. I was digging up some flowers in her garden and the ground was hard and I told her that I was afraid that I would break the shovel and she said to me "it's not a man's life" Every time someone breaks something or is afraid of loosing something belong to me I always quote your mom's words of wisdom and usually I will tell where I heard them from. You were blessed to have such a beautiful mom. My God bless you and help you through this.

Our hearts are heavy at this time. when Jonathan played the pump organ in Triffies front room last March break, She smiled like she always had. Excited that the old organ was being played. We left giving each other that peck on the cheek and a big ol' hug. I somehow felt that it would be the last visit.....I was right. We all smiled that day and i will always smile when i think of Aunt Triffie. God bless you and all my family, and all her friends who will miss a very special person.
