Obituary of Edward J. McCarthy

MCCARTHY, Edward - Passed peacefully away at his residence on Saturday, January 8, 2011, Edward McCarthy of Glover Road, Riverhead, Harbour Grace, age 79 years. Predeceased by parents: Felix and Alice McCarthy; grandson: Barry McCarthy; three brothers: Charles, Joseph and William; two sisters: Margaret and Agnes; brothers-in-law: William Bowman, James O'Neill and Gerald Russell; sister-in-law: Elizabeth McCarthy. Leaving to mourn, wife: Ruth; one daughter: Dianne (Kirk) Peach, Harbour Grace; three sons: James (Sherry), David (Joan) and Brian (Gloria), all of Harbour Grace; four grandchildren: Deanne, Charles (Melanie), Kevin (Lindsay) and Kyle; two great-grandchildren: Kyle and Jake; two brothers: Justin, Harbour Grace and James (Josephine), Toronto, ON; one sister: Nellie Russell, Goose Bay; sister-in-law: Laura McCarthy, Glace Bay, NS; also a large number of other relatives and friends. A private family visitation was held at Noel's Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace. Cremation to take place. Inurnment to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
