Obituary of James Layman

LAYMAN, James- Passed peacefully away at the Interfaith Citizen's Home, Carbonear on Saturday, February 18, 2006, James Layman of Gull Island, age 90 years. Predeceased by wife: Winnifred; daughters: Ethel Doyle and Bridget Layman; parents John and Ellen; brother: Robert Layman; sisters: Rebecca Oliver, Emma Oliver, Sarah Campbell and Mary Walsh. Leaving to mourn, two daughters: Ellie (Thomas) Johnson and Marie (Joseph) Layman, both of Gull Island; five sons: Edward (Martha), St. John's, John (Donna) and Arthur (Frances), both of Gull Island, Frederick (Christine), Osoyoos, BC and Robert (Monica), Mount Pearl; son-in-law: Cyril Doyle, Gull Island; a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Resting at NOEL'S FUNERAL HOME, MAIN HIGHWAY, WESTERN BAY and from where the funeral will take place on Tuesday, February 21 at 1:30 p.m. Mass to follow at 2:00 p.m. from Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Northern Bay. Flowers gratefully accepted or as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Corpus Christi R.C. Cemetery Fund.
