CASSELL, LESTER JAMES- Passed peacefully away in the presence of his family at the Hoyles-Escasoni Complex on April 22, 2005, Lester James Cassell of St. John's, in his 75th year. Lester was a retired Marine Engineer (2nd Class) with Marine Atlantic. His big heart was always with his family, and he was a friend to many. Lester loved nothing more than puttering at his cabin and time outdoors. He will be lovingly remembered for his twinkling blue eyes, quick smile and cheerful yarns. We love you. Predeceased by his parents: Stanley and Tryphenia, infant brother: Llewellyn, brother-in-law: Stanley Bungay, sister-in-law: Linda Cassell and nephew: Brian Cassell. Leaving to celebrate his life and memory is his wife of 45 years: Drucilla (nee Walsh), one daughter: Marilyn, CBS and one son: Derrick, St. John's; two brothers: Hubert (Doris), St. John's and Ross, Labrador City; one sister: Madeline Bungay, Jackson's Arm; one brother-in-law: Reginald (Olive) Walsh, CBS; special niece: Sharon Fowler; old friends: Roy Dicks and William Greene; a special student who attends the School for the Deaf, Lisa Whalen; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at NOEL'S FUNERAL HOME, Main Highway, Western Bay and from where the funeral will take place on Sunday, April 24 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation hours will take place on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at the United Church Cemetery, Western Bay South. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Newfoundland School for the Deaf (Residential Fund).
