My condolences are extended to the family of Mr. Jesse Oliver on his recent passing.I have never met Jesse's family, but I knew Jesse for a long time. He worked with my Uncle Pad Costello, who passed away this past March. Jesse boarded at our house while he worked with the well-drilling companies. My parents(RIP), were Ned&Pearl Costello, and were great friends of Jesse also. I was only a little girl when Jesse came into my life, probably 5 or 6, but I remember him well. Jesse having to be to work early, his breakfast would be 5 or 6am and I would be sitting at the table with him. He got a great kick out of this and would say it's pretty early for a little girl to be up.I saw him once since then,in Carbonear when my parents were living and we all had a great chat.I will treasure the memories of this kind and gentle man. It was an honor to have known him. God bless you all and maybe some day we will meet and have a yarn about Jesse.
