Obituary of Ronald 'Ron' Joseph Dooley

Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, February 2, 2024, Ronald ‘Ron’ Joseph Dooley of Carbonear, age 74 years. Predeceased by parents: Peter and Geraldine; brother: Bill; sister: Marcella (Willis) Howell; brother-in-law: Kevin Lee. Leaving to mourn, wife of 43 years Janet; children: Chad (Norma), Sonya (Paul) Warren, and Bill (Jessica); grandchildren: Jordan, Peter, Michael (Stephanie), Leslie (Joseph), Caroline, Alex, and Claire; brothers: Patrick (Julie), Peter (Donna), and John (Dorothy); sisters: Helena Lee, Geraldine Pemberton, Lorraine (Andrew) Farrell, Patricia (Roy) Bouzane, Pauline (Ken) Garland, and Ellen (Gary) Butt; sister-in-law: Mildred; special caregiver: Kerri Foley; also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ron was a dedicated and selfless community leader with strength and good character, embracing all that life had to offer. A man of unwavering faith, Ron’s positive outlook was unmatched and an inspiration to anyone who was blessed enough to get to know him. Ron was proud of his family, leading by example for them in the importance of hard work, perseverance and kindness. He was a remarkable man, who will never be forgotten, his strength, sense of humour, and love will always be with us. Visitation at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Sunday, February 4 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, February 5 from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Monday, February 5 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Carbonear. Interment will be held at a later date.
