Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, Michael J. McCarthy of Harbour Grace, age 84 years. Predeceased by wife: Mary; parents: Felix and Mary; four brothers: Thomas, Patrick, William, and Gerald; one sister: Pauline Dempsey. Leaving to mourn, two daughters: Sharon Young, Fort McMurray, AB and Michelle (Dave) Stephens, Harbour Grace; one son: Paul (Mona), Makinsons; three grandchildren: David (Jessica), Bradley, and Mitchell; one sister: Mary (Henry) Whalen, Riverhead, Harbour Grace; two sisters-in-law: Florence Janes, Shearstown, and Margaret (Randolph) Clarke, Bishop’s Cove; also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Visitation at Noel's Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace on Wednesday, May 31 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Thursday, June 1 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Riverhead, Harbour Grace. Interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Harbour Grace.
