Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, Josie Hopkins of Carbonear, age 93 years. Predeceased by first husband: Caleb Hopkins; second husband: Abram Hopkins; parents: Elias and Alice Oldford; brothers: Tom, Joe, Bob, Rance, and Ray. Leaving to mourn, son: Ed (Maureen), Lower Island Cove; two step-daughters: Darlene (Mike) Dooley, Kitchener, ON and Marilyn (Harry) Emberley, Whitby, ON; four step-sons: Ted (Linda), Don (Joyce), Wayde (Nita), all of Old Perlican, and Jim (Debbie), Gull Island; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother: Alex Oldford, Bunyan’s Cove; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Special thank you to the residents and staff at Lane’s Retirement Living, Carbonear. Visitation at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Sunday, March 26 from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, March 27 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Monday, March 27 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Carbonear. Interment in the Salvation Army Cemetery, Lower Island Cove.
