I am so sorry I could not be there with the family. Although I am not with you in presence I am in heart, prayer and spirit. When I heard the news of poppy passing I did not believe such a strong, loving, jolly man could be taken from this earth, from his family. I guess God was running out of Great Men in heaven. I really do not know what to write because my thoughts are all over the place but I would like to share with you a couple of my fond memories of my pop. I hope you all can picture him as the man he was. Through all his teasing and humor, poppy was always a softy at heart. I remember the words of wisdom and the tear in his eye as he gave me marriage advice when I told him I may marry the man of my dreams. He told me if we loved one another we would get through anything and a good man would always listen to his woman. Of course, Nan came out and joined us in the living room mid chat and added that many men, including my pop, had no choice but to listen and straighten up. Once he did that and learned as most couples need too, they lived and loved like Newlyweds. All I kept thinking was what a great couple to love so much for so long. My prayers are with my Nanny, I love you and I hope you take comfort in knowing how many people love you and poppy and the family you have around you for support. Another time, I remember when poppy lost his fingers in a freak accident in his workshop. That Christmas that followed, all the family met up in our old house in Victoria. The Meadus's were playing guitar and singing and I looked up at poppy and he was crying. Maybe because he was so proud to see all of us together or because he wanted so much to join in. Nevertheless, I cracked a joke, sat on his lap and made him laugh...He was the only "Kling-on" we had, no matter how many performers. (A private joke between poppy and I) The laughter, the wee little hidden tears, the luminous smile and those crystal blue eyes that told a thousand tales will live on in all of us. All the Meadus's has poppy's humor, we all have a softy side, we all have great smiles that light up a room...But those handsome, strong eyes, the eyes that glimmered as the water on a clear day is what I will miss the most. His eyes said it all...I miss you poppy and I pray that you are at peace, telling tales of yesteryear, laughing and cracking jokes, watching over us...Until I see you again...I love you. To the rest of the family, I really wish I was there to be with you all and help out where I could. You are so very lucky to have each other during times such as these. I love you all and I miss you all. My prayers and thoughts are with you. With love, Janiene Risius
