SHEPPARD, Chesley- Passed peacefully away at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on Saturday, October 28, 2006, Chesley Sheppard of Spaniard's Bay, age 91 years. Predeceased by wife: Violet, daughter: Winnifred, six infant children, great-grandsons: Shane and Tyler, brothers: William and Gordon. Leaving to mourn, four daughters: Rose (Gordon) Skanes, Bell Island, Joan (Reginald) Smith, Bishop's Cove, Providence (Lawrence) Cribbin, Burlington, ON and Roberta (Leonard) McGivor, Georgetown, ON; four sons: Gordon (friend Mary), Spaniard's Bay, Max (Cathy), Spaniard's Bay, Chester (Irene), Carbonear and Bruce, Bay Roberts; son-in-law: Harold Peddle, Bishop's Cove; daughters-in-law: Linda, Shearstown and Doreen, Bay Roberts; twenty-nine grandchildren; forty-four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother: Gerald (Mary), Bell Island; sister-in-law: Marie Sheppard, Interfaith Home, Carbonear; brothers-in-law: Pastor Maxwell (Goldie) Mercer, Stoney Creek, ON and Gordon (Elsie) Mercer, Sudbury, ON; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace with visitation hours on Monday, October 30 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. and Tuesday, October 31 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, November 1 at 10:30 a.m. from Seventh Day Adventist Church and Cemetery, Bay Roberts. As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
